The Congress of Vienna and its global dimension International conference commemorating the
bicentenary of the Congress of Vienna 1814-15 18-22
September 2014, University of Vienna, Austria Auspices: Austrian Commission for UNESCO The 11th
International Meeting of the Association of Latin American and Caribbean Historians
is now over. Thank you to all the delegates and everyone involved for making
it such an interesting and successful meeting. If you have any questions
relating to the conference, we can be contacted at office@konak-wien.org. The 12th
International Meeting of the Association of Latin American and Caribbean
Historians will be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in 2018.
Details on this conference will be published at http://adhilac.com.ar/. We hope that you will be able to join us and
look forward to meeting you in Santo Domingo. This major conference featured a stimulating
programme of 42 parallel sessions for papers and discussion as well as
several plenary events by leading scholars and researchers from all over the
world. It provided an international, multi- and interdisciplinary forum
inclusive of transnational research and wide ranging cultural perspectives.
Over 200 scholars from 36 different countries and various disciplines have
registered as presenters, chairpersons, and commentators. A doctoral student
seminar took place from 17-18 September 2014. The conference was an event in the “break the
silence” programme The plenary lecture given by Immanuel Wallerstein (Yale) was a
